Project Description

An Intimate Oxford Wedding
Melanie & Aaron

December 2020

Melanie and Aaron’s family-focused day was evident from the minute I stepped through the doors into the bridal prep room. Melanie chose to have her daughter as her one bridesmaid, and together they spent the morning getting ready for the exciting day ahead. Melanie is extremely talented, and also handcrafted all the flower arrangements and décor using locally bought flowers.

A short drive to Melanie and Aaron’s family farm led to their beautiful ceremony spot in their front yard. The emotion in their ceremony was tangible, as Melanie and Aaron confirmed their love in front of their close friends and family. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus situation, most of Melanie’s family in South Africa were unable to attend their wedding in person. Instead, they were present at every step of the way during the ceremony, through Zoom.

After the new Mr and Mrs was announced, we took a short break before capturing some simple family portraits. Melanie was a trooper during our couple portraits, climbing the Oxford hills in her high heels for some beautiful location shots, and it took only one call for their flock of family sheep to come running over the hills to join in.

I was honoured to witness and capture the day of these two special people. It was clear to see that Melanie and Aaron share a true love of life together, through their spirit for traveling, family, and their gorgeous dog – Floki.
